Blueberry Basil Smoothie

Important Announcement: This Blueberry Basil Smoothie is THE official summer smoothie of the year.

I’ve made it more than any other breakfast this summer, and I’m still far from tired of it. In fact, even though I’ve been making this smoothie for months, I still wake up craving it several times a week!

If you’ve never tried basil in a smoothie before, I highly recommend trying it out with this recipe. The basil makes this smoothie super refreshing and cooling—without being overpowering—and it goes perfectly with the blueberries.

Frozen bananas add creaminess, and the spinach packs in an extra boost of nutrition (you can’t even taste it in this smoothie). If you’re trying to get your superfoods in, sprinkle in a little spirulina, too!

Blueberry Basil Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz oat milk

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 2 cups spinach

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves (about a large handful)

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp spirulina (optional)

To make:

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on medium speed for 1-3 minutes, depending on your blender, until completely blended and smooth. Enjoy!
