Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade

Butterfly pea flower lemonade

Makes about 4 servings

Ingredients:

For the butterfly pea flower simple syrup:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ½ cup water 

  • ¼ cup butterfly pea flowers

Other ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

  • 3 1/2 cups cold water

To make:

  1. Make the simple syrup by combining the sugar, butterfly pea flowers, and boiling water in a small pitcher or jar. Stir well to combine. Let steep while prepping the rest of the lemonade.

  2. Squeeze 1/2 cup lemon juice, then add it to a pitcher with 3 1/2 cups of cold water.

  3. To serve, you can either pour the simple syrup into the bottom of a pitcher and top with the lemon and water mixture to create a beautiful gradient in the pitcher, or you can pour a bit of simple syrup into individual glass with ice and top with the lemon water mixture.
