Pumpkin Maple Brie in Puff Pastry
This Pumpkin Maple Brie in Puff Pastry is a fall favorite—flaky puff pastry, melted brie, and spiced pumpkin butter are a delicious combination. Even though it looks impressive, it’s easy to prepare and comes together with just a handful of ingredients.
Pumpkin Maple Brie in Puff Pastry
Ingredients:
8 oz wheel of Brie cheese
1 sheet of puff pastry
1/3 cup pumpkin butter
1 tbsp maple syrup (Note: You might need to adjust the quantity depending on the sweetness of the pumpkin butter you're using)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1 egg mixed with a splash of water (to create an egg wash)
Cinnamon stick and fresh sage leaves for garnish
To make:
Preheat your oven to 425.
Roll out a thawed puff pastry sheet onto a floured surface and cut into a circle (large enough to wrap around the Brie.
In a small bowl, mix together the pumpkin butter, maple, and cinnamon.
Spread the pumpkin mixture into a circle (the size of the Brie wheel) in the center of the puff pastry. Top with the pecans.
Put the Brie on top of the circle and wrap with the puff pastry. Set aside.
Arrange 4 pieces of bakers twine over one another, crossing in the center, to create a "wheel". Flip the Brie over and place it on top, then tie the twine over the top of the Brie to create a pumpkin shape. Brush with the egg wash.
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes and remove when golden brown.
Cut the twine and carefully remove it from the Brie.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick and sage on the top.
