Cardamom & Ginger Spiced Hot Apple Cider

Making a batch of hot apple cider has become a tradition of mine to welcome every autumn. In this recipe, cardamom and ginger add even more spice and depth of flavor to a classic fall favorite. It’s comforting and perfect for warming up on chilly autumn afternoons.

Cardamom & ginger Spiced Hot Apple Cider

Makes 2 quarts

Ingredients:

  • 2 quarts fresh apple cider

  • 1 apple, sliced

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • 1 inch ginger, sliced

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1/2 tsp whole cloves

  • 2-3 cardamom pods

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

To make:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large pot and bring to a gentle simmer over medium low heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse.

  2. Strain out the solids and enjoy right away.
