Spiced Apple Chips
Apple season means I always end up with way more than I can realistically eat, so making a batch of these spiced apple chips is my favorite way to use them up. They’re light and crunchy, and the cinnamon and cardamom add even more fall flavor. Plus, they make your kitchen smell amazing while they bake! Perfect for snacking, tossing into a fall trail mix, or even as a crunchy topping for oatmeal.
Spiced Apple Chips
Ingredients:
3 medium apples (firm and slightly tart apples like honeycrisp, pink lady, and fuji work best!)
1 tbsp sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cardamom
To make:
Preheat your oven to 200 F and line a baking tray with parchment.
Use a mandoline slicer or food processor to cut the apples into very thin slices. Place onto the parchment in a single layer (overlapping will keep the apples from cooking).
To a small bowl, add the sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom and mix well. Sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake for 2 hours or until the apples are completely dry and crunchy. Make sure to watch them closely at the end–they go from crispy to overcooked very quickly!
Remove and let cool completely, then store in an airtight container.
