Rosemary & Parmesan Puff Pastry Stars
Makes 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
Flour (or flouring a surface)
2 puff pastry sheets (about 1 pound puff pastry), thawed according to package directions
1 egg
1 cup parmesan
1/4 cup rosemary, finely minced
2 tsp red pepper flakes
Supplies: small star cookie cutter
To make:
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Roll the puff pastry sheets out onto a floured surface. Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut the sheets into as many shapes as possible. Place the stars onto two parchment-lined baking sheets.
In a small bowl, beat the egg to create an egg wash. Brush the egg over the stars.
Sprinkle the stars evenly with the parmesan, followed by the rosemary and red pepper flakes.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the stars are light golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Note: The stars are best the day of, so I don’t recommend baking them in advance. However, after step 4, you can place the baking sheets with stars into the fridge to keep overnight until they’re ready to bake (step 5).
